Welkom op de projectwebsite van het SBO Project Disconnect 2 Reconnect
In an era where digital technologies are deeply integrated into every aspect of our lives—from work and school to family time—maintaining a healthy relationship with our digital environment has become crucial to maintain an overall well-being. "Disconnect to Connect" is an innovative research project that aims to enable a healthier digital life for everyone.
The project aims to critically examine and develop a comprehensive understanding of digital (dis)connection practices across various contexts to inform the creation of strategies that enhance digital well-being. By leveraging a multidisciplinary approach, this initiative investigates the effectiveness of digital disconnection in improving mental health, productivity, and overall quality of life. It seeks to identify optimal disconnection techniques suitable for individuals, families, and organizations, thereby contributing to the development of policies and interventions that promote a healthier engagement with digital technologies. This research is essential for stakeholders in technology, health, and education sectors, offering evidence-based insights to guide the design of digital environments that support user well-being.
The project is funded by the FWO and carried out by research groups from Ghent University, KU Leuven and Antwerp University.
